Bringing
a new puppy home is a very exciting time and often in the excitement many important
factors can be overlooked. Taking on a new puppy can be very demanding so careful
consideration should be made to ensure you get things off to a good start.

For
the first 16 days of a dog's new life it's eyes and ears are closed so they rely
on their senses of smell to explore everything out. The mother of the pups shows
calm assertive energy around her pups and sets rules, limitations and boundaries
from the moment they are born. It is advisable to keep the pup with mum for as
long as possible to gain important social skills along with gaining the right
nutrients from it’s mum. 12 to 14 weeks is best. | |

1-2-1 puppy training will take place in your home. She will show you how to take
on the pack leader role from day 1 with your new pup. This will enable you set
ground rules with your pup and ensure it starts to follow your lead right away.
She will show you how to avoid the most common mistakes people make when
bringing a puppy home which results in the pup taking charge, disobeying all your
rules and wrecking your house or constantly jumping up and nipping and mouthing,
which can later turn into biting and aggression if not nipped in the bud straight
away. Nikki's 1-2-1 puppy training will ensure a firm foundation for your pup
for the rest of its life and prepare both of you to go to puppy training classes
which are great for socialising your new pup with other dogs. |
