We transferred Izzy to a foster home near Glen Coe in Argyllshire Scotland last Friday. She is staying with a family that is obviously very dog orientated. There were three other dogs present including a female Staffie which should provide some distraction for Izzy. The women is extremely conscious of diet type and wants to modify her present one together with the skullcap and valerian treatment. The surroundings are wild Scottish mountains, well fenced paddocks and long walks are a part of the proposed regime.

This was a sad case to deal with but with a happy outcome. Izzy was waking from her sleep and attacking her bed, one day she woke and jumped up on the mother in laws lap and bit her ear. The family were devastated and with a new baby in the house felt they could not keep Izzy with them. They contemplated Euthanasia and came to me for advice. I said that I felt Izzy could be re-homed in the right environment and get the right treatment she could begin to lead a happy life. Much to my joy, they persevered and found Izzy a new home up in the Scottish mountains. This was an extract from the email I received from the family.

Having said that it was an extremely black and emotional day for myself and Graham. We have only one response as alternative to euthanasia and we feel she has chance with a family if the problems of aggressive awakenings can be subdued. We are keeping our fingers crossed.
