Dogs communicate by thoughts and energy rather than the human word!

My work as "The UK Dog Whisperer" is a fascinating job that I love. I get enormous amount of satisfaction in helping dog owners all over the world find solutions to their pet's health and behavioural problems using natural techniques and methods that get immediate and long lasting results.
In the 10 years I have been doing this wonderful job, I have come across every case imaginable. Some cases I have dealt with have been rather shocking and upsetting and others have been fairly mild and easy to understand in comparison.
Most of us pet owners are doing the best job we can with the Information that is fed to us by our vets, by our pet food and drug companies. Most of us read books, search the internet, talk with our vets, listen to our friends and family to get the right advice when it comes to the best we can offer our pets.
However, most of us are still finding that we have many unanswered questions to why our pets are behaving as they are or what has caused the shocking ill health our pets seem to suffering these days and we are left feeling confused about what to do for the best.
I am usually called out by my clients when things have reached breaking point and the relationship between them and their pet has broken down to the point where if something does not change, then the dog will have to find another home. I often walk into a family or pack that has underlying feelings of worry, anxiety, anger, sadness and frustration.
My clients have lost their confidence and maybe become fearful that they just are not doing the best for their pets and feel frustrated because they don't know why. I often hear my clients say "I know it's something I am not doing right but I haven't got a clue what it is"
I have spent years studying both human and dog psychology and have learnt how to be able to read both human and animal body language. I witness all the time how we often read each others signals wrongly and end up becoming frustrated and angry because we can't get the response we want from our animals when we need to.
I think our dogs and cats have done a marvellous job in trying to understand us humans and the loyalty, love and compassion they show towards us is truly amazing. They have learnt our language so well and yet we still misunderstand their language so much and often misunderstand what it is they are trying to tell us.
It's really common that us humans humanise our animals and think they are behaving in human like ways when really they are not. For example when a dog jumps up on your lap we often think this is because they are being affectionate when really they are claiming us as theirs and see us as the lower rank in their pack. It seems ok when a small dog jumps on our lap but what if a larger breed tries to do the same… our space suddenly feels invaded and we don't want the dog's so called affection and tell him or her to get off.
My work is about educating dog owners on what a dog is thinking and why it behaves in the manner it does. I translate what the dog is really saying in any given situation and help dog owners to understand what the dogs needs really are. I teach dog owners how to communicate with dogs in their language so they can find solutions and overcome both health and behavioural problems they may be having.
My methods are totally positive and I do not use any force, aggression, bully tactics gismos, gadgets, of food rewards to get your dog to respond to you. I teach the dog to respect its pack leader or owner so that it will respond through mutual respect and understanding. I believe that each and every one of us has everything we need inside of our selves in order to communicate with our pet friends. It's just about knowing how to tap into that knowledge we all have.
The methods I teach helps dog owners to remove their negative emotions around the dog and regain a sense of confidence and control through positive interaction with their dog.
Dogs are animals and respond to energy, they do not use words to communicate like we do, yet I see dog owners everywhere giving their dogs verbal commands or instructions. Dogs do not understand our human language; they actually work with our thoughts and our energy and once we understand this we are well on our way to having a happy and fulfilling relationship with our pets.
If we have negative thoughts then it will produce low energy and your dog will respond to this in a negative way also. Many of the clients I see have become fearful in one way or another, it might be that their dog has bitten someone or another dog, it might be that they have run off for hours when off the lead, or they worry that the dog will suffer when they are left in the house on their own. This results in the trust between human and animal being broken which leads to further negative emotions of anxiety, which in turn just makes the problem worse and then the frustration and anger sets in.
Fear comes from not understanding something properly. Therefore I show the owners how to regain their confidence back, by teaching them all they need to know in how to really fulfil their dog's needs in today's modern society so a balanced and healthy relationship may flourish.
If you want to learn more about how to talk to animals in a language they understand, contact me today and I will be happy to help.

What is in my pet food? A good question - but not one that most pet food companies are willing to answer honestly!

After doing extensive research into our pets foods available today, It is rather shocking at what actually goes into this "rubbish" and whats even more shocking is the pet food manufactures do not have to legally list what is exactly in our pets food and use general terms to hide a whole number of nasties that find their way into their foods.
Not only have I seen the health problems that dried and tinned food can produced but as a dog psychologist, I have been studying how these foods are closely linked to the most of the behavioural problems we see in our pets today!
Here is a quick reference guide to tell you what the pet food manufactures won't...
MEAT AND ANIMAL DERIVATIVES
A general term for animal proteins which avoid having to specify where the meat comes from.
It can be any part of the animal and It usually is the cheapest like chicken feet and heads.
You may see quantities of meat like chicken 4% or lamb 14%
Considering our dogs and cats are mainly carnivores then we should be feeding them good quality meat that contains all the good nutrients and feeding them more like 80% meat and bone!
DERIVATIVES OF VEGETABLE ORIGIN
Sounds unpleasant, well it is! Another loose term used to disguise all manner of hidden ingredients such as rotting vegetable residues and even charcoal!
EC PERMITTED ADDITIVES
This term hides a list of over 4,000 chemicals, many of which have been banned from human foods due to serious health concerns, including (E110 Sunshine yellow) and (E102 Tartrazine) these chemicals can cause a whole host of health concerns in our animals, ranging from Cancers, skin complaints, artheritus, heart disease, blood disease, allergies, and nervous, hyper and aggressive behaviours.
LOW QUALITY PROTEINS
Cheap protein sources such as soya are used instead of meat in many pet foods. They are hard to digest and much
less suitable than real meat proteins.
VARIOUS SUGARS
These are a whole host of chemically produced sweeteners that will make the taste of the food nicer to the animals. With such low quality ingredients in most pet foods sugar is added so the animal will become addicted to it.
Sugars are the biggest cause of hyper and aggressive behaviour in our animals and should be avoided at all costs. Not to metion mouth rot and tooth decay.
CEREALS
Cereals can be wheat and gluten put in only as a cheap filler to these pet foods. Wheat and gluten can cause stomach bloat , digestion and bowel problems, along with skin allergies and ear and eye complaints.
So its easy to understand why pet food manufacturers are reluctant to come clean when you consider some of the ingredients they use.
Always check your pet food labels, treats contain very high amounts of the wrong fats and sugars and are causing all sorts of health problems within our animals.
Look into feeding your dog more natural diets of raw meat and fish and please don't forgot to keep marrow bone in their diet!
Its highly essential part of their diet that pet food manufactures have taken out!
Do not cook the bones as they dry and splinter and can gt stuck. Raw bones are fine as long as they are the right size for your dogs/cats mouth.

The dangers of vaccinating your pets

This is a subject that is very dear to my heart, so I am currently doing a large amount of study and research into it.
We are told by our "trusted vet" that we must give our pets their vaccinations to protect them from a whole host of disease.
We give our new puppies their vaccinations and then we give them their boosters every year.. We believe we are in deed protecting them but, what if, in fact we are doing the opposite and these vaccines are actually causing the ill health we are seeing more and more frequently in our pets?
What happens if these vaccines are actually damaging our pets health instead of trying to save them?
What happens if our vets only believe what the big pharmaceutical companies are telling them and they don't really know what side effects these drugs are causing in our pets?
What if the vets actually do know that these vaccines in fact can be causing further disease in the body but know that they will make more money on us returning our pets for further treatment with them?
These are all questions I have been asking my self and others to find out what is really going on.
This study is not new study, I am not the first to look at it, there are many studies and articles written by the homeopathic vets and doctors out there that are proving that vaccines really are causing further damage to our pets and to us.
Do any of us really know whats in these vaccines and do we know what they are doing to our pets once they are injected into their systems?
We trust our vets have studied and know exactly whats going on with these drugs but most of them are educated by the pharmaceutical company reps and don't know any further.
Alot of what I have read is shocking really. Most of these vaccines have not been given proper trials to see what the side efects are before they are released onto the market and injected into us and our animals!
I have heard, read and come across my own clients that have had their pets vaccinated and then some other illness has appeared hours, days, weeks or months later.
They might ask their vet if the illness is vaccine related but most vets will say No.
Some of the most common illnesses that have appeared after vaccines have been given ar cancer, epilepsy, skin, eye and ear allergies, atheritus, blood disease not to mention brain disfunction and behavioural disorders!
I would like to hear from anyone reading this if they have had a pet vaccinated and then found other health problems going on after the vaccine.
Take a look at this site I found today, Have a read through, its fascinating reading.
http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/k9health/wwwchc/PetVaccination.htmlRead the stories of other pet owners who have learnt not to give thier pet vaccines as they have had the heart brake of loosing a pet or having to watch the pet go through horrendous illness because of the vaccines their vet suggested.
I know my beliefs on the whole vaccine argument out there... I will not be vaccinating my dog or myself against any disease. I am a firm believer that if you have a very strong and healthy immune system you can fight any disease that enters the body.
A strong healthy immune system comes from eating the right foods, getting the right sort of exercise and making sure you stay relaxed.
As you know by now I suggest raw feeding to our pets which is the best medicine available today and will keep the dogs immune system very strong. What if though we raw feed our dogs and then vaccinate them and we still find our dogs are suffering with illness that the vets will put down to breeding?
Have you ever noticed that when you go to the vets they will blame the illness on the breeding. They will say "oh its typical for cocker spaniels to suffer with ear complaints".... and we believe them.
What if actually the ear problems are caused by the annual booster your dog has just had! Or the fact that the dog is on a poor diet and has just been vaccinated?
Are we unwittingly making our pets poorly or killing them because we are not getting the right information given to us by our trusted professionals?
I would love to hear your thoughts on this matter.
I shall be writing more about vaccines in future blogs and educating others that there is a more natural way to keep your pet alive and happy for longer without having to have the expense of numerous vet bills and maybe early death of your beloved best friend.
Always giving you and your dog a helping hand

I am so grateful to everyone that has helped me along the way!

Today is a fantastic day for Canine Angel!
My dream website is finally a reality and I am over the moon and so happy with it! It is here it is live and it is on the world wide web... who knows what possibilities and opportunities it will bring?
Putting this website together has made me realise just how far I have come from those first steps I took 10 years ago on this incredible journey!
This website has been created from scratch and has had passion, magic, love, dedication and imagination put into it.
What you put in you get out so I am looking forward to the magic that it will bring into the lives of so many people and their pets.
Every single dog I meet on this journey has given me enormous pleasure and a warm feeling in my heart! Every single dog I have met along the way has taught me something new and remains etched in my memory forever.
I have included as many pictures of the dogs I have met or worked with over the years on this website. Each one tells its own story and each one found its way to me for a reason.
This job is not just about the wonderful dogs I meet along the way but the wonderful people that have surrounded these dogs, whether they have owned them, or worked with them or known someone with a dog that needs help, they all have given tremendous support and love along the way. The bond between human and dog is a precious one, something that needs to be nurtured and not taken for granted. Our dogs are special to us, really special to us and they give us so much unconditional love. They teach us to live in the moment and to just let things go.. to flow with life and not to take everything so seriously! They are indeed our best friends.
Talking of best friends, I want to take this opportunity to thank some very special people that have helped me along the way... they have all been part of this journey and all helped me in someway to make this dream a reality! They are true friends of mine and I want to dedicate this part of my journey to them and say a huge thank you for the part they have played in my life so far.
Firstly i have to thank my mum! She finally gave in to my constant pleas of wanting a dog and let me keep Jake when he came into my life and little did she know then that this was the start of my incredible journey! She has also been my finest teacher at teaching me the natural way of life and to never give up and keep believing in my dreams!
Thank you to my dear older brother, Dylan, for always believing in me and encouraging me to take the courageous steps i needed to take to keep this dream alive! He taught me to stand up and be counted and to fight for what i wanted. He toughened me up but reminded me to stay soft and gentle.
Thank you to Kevin Mitchell from Kevin Mitchell photography, my very dear friend who was by my side at the beginning of this journey, who supported me as I went through my study and training, who gave me the opportunity to travel to America where I learnt the most about myself, life and dogs. I thank him for still being part of my journey an for always believing in me and my dream and for never giving up on me.
Thank you next to Kevin Raison from Kickstartbootcamp who I met me at a point in my life where i had lost sight of my dream. He coached me and pushed me passed my limits and taught me i could achieve more than what i thought was possible! He gave me the gift of self belief again and helped me to re kindle my inner flame and passion. He passed me the tools I needed to get me going again and has always offered his unconditional support.
I also have him to thank for introducing me to Antony Lawrence from Business Recall, the one and only genius web designer who has worked with me on this amazing project! He was the one that helped me to make my dream website a reality! I am his number one fan and it has been the most pleasurable journey to work with him on this amazing project. He has injected the magic and sparkle into the Canine Angel branding and made my dream come alive! His talent is so special!
I want to thank Jake Hemming from Mach One for the amazing amount of kindness and support he has given me throughout me setting up this business, not only was he the genius who created the Canine Angel brand but he has helped me overcome some major business challenges and helped me out on many occasions!
I want to thank Heidi Webster my accountant for her amazing accountancy and financial skills, her help has been invaluable!
I want to thank my partner Roger Meacock from Natural Healing Solutions for having patience with me, for listening to me and for believing in me. His continued love and support means the world to me.
And then there is my special girl Annie. Thank you Annie for being my best friend and for being by my side throughout it all. You are always there with your wagging tail, so pleased to see me, our daily walks together are precious time spent together and you have taught me the most from any dog I have met.
There are so many other wonderful people that i met on the way and i want to thank them all too! Each person that has given me business advice, or taken their time with me, given me a shoulder to lean on or a helping hand when times get tough... thank you all of you!
Thank you to my clients, the wonderful people I meet that want to help their dogs lead a better life. I thank you for putting your trust in me and for taking the time to listen and to act.
I am living my dream, my passion in life is to help others and help the little ones on this planet. We can all do our little bit and make a huge difference to this world.
Mother nature works with me as much I work with her and I thank her for her teachings too.
Its a good day today!
My message to anyone reading this, is to be thankful and grateful for what you have in your life right now... Never give up on your dreams, believe you can do it and go and make it happen. You can do it! You know you can!!
Thank You
Love and Light

So what is the best diet for your dog?

Being a dog psychologist, it is my job to go and visit so called misbehaved or badly behaved dogs in their homes. It is my job to asses what is causing this behaviour and find a solution to the problems that dog owners are facing today.
Over the years of visiting clients and dogs in their homes, I started to observe a familiar pattern forming, I was witnessing a very obvious link with what these dogs were being fed on to the behaviour they were showing.
A shocking 98% of the dogs that i am called out to see for general hyperactivity or severe aggression towards other dogs or people were being fed on the number one Brand for Dog food in the UK,
Bakers Complete made by Purina.
Other Well known brands are causing the same problems but Bakers has got to be the worst i have come across yet!
On seeing this pattern emerging in my consultations, i wanted to investigate further so began my study into the pet food industry.
These pet food manufactures are claiming on their brightly coloured packets "complete dog food! and "Healthy balanced diet!"
On closer inspection of the ingredients going into these dried, produced foods I was beginning to find out what really goes into them.
Cereals is the main ingredient, its first on the list and most of these kibble or biscuit foods contain high levels of wheat, maize or gluten.
They are only added as cheap fillers and do not give your dog the correct nutrition they need to successful get through the day.
Dogs do not need wheat, maize or gluten in their diets, In fact it can really upset their systems and cause a whole host of skin complaints and allergies. Gluten puts a GLUEY like substance in the stomach lining which doesn't allow any nutrients to be absorbed… Not that there is any nutrition of any value in most of these foods anyway.
Wheat and cereals also cause bloat in the gut.. With so many over weight dogs out there if they just came off the cereals we would see a much leaner healthier dog.
lets take a look at some of the loose terms these pet food manufactures use today to hide a whole host of nasty stuff being used in the foods.
Meat and Animal derivatives (4% chicken or maybe lamb) 4% !!!!!!! How on earth is a dog supposed to survive on 4% meat?
How is your animal supposed to function properly on 4% meat?
And lets face it the pet food manufactures use human waste to put into their pet foods, so we know its not good wholesome chicken, we are talking the leftovers that are not fit for human consumption like the feet and heads.
Vegetable derivatives: This is not nice vegetables as we would like to imagine, its vegetable residue or even charcoal, sawdust or ash..
Who in their right minds would give their dogs rubbish like that if they actually knew?
Now comes the real nasties that these dry and tinned pet food manufactures throw into our dogs food
E numbers, Colours and preservatives,
EC preservatives are made up of a range of 4000 different chemicals!!
Which ones are in your dogs food? Who knows?
These are all added by the pet food manufactures for their own benefit not the health of your dog. They want their product to sell so they can make billions of pounds profit..They stick a load of colours into the food so it looks appealing to their buyers which are human..
The EC preservatives are added in there to keep the product on the shelf for a long time... enough time to sell it through and make mountains more profit.
These EC Preservatives are toxic to our dog and are upsetting the natural balance of your animal, these ingredients do not agree with our dogs health or behaviour.
Man has messed about with the breeding of dogs and alot of disease in dogs is blamed on the breeding programmes, which to some extent is very true but what about these chemicals we are now adding to this problem. Lets face it, alot of health concerns these days are caused by adding to much toxicity to the body!
Various Sugars.. This is another loose term you will see in your dogs food and treats.
Why an earth does a dog need sugar?? it doesn't!
Sugar is causing not just aggressive and hyper behaviours in our animals but more worryingly sugar is massively contributing to severe mouth rot. Yes good old tooth decay.
Mouth rot is the most common problem vets see in their surgerie..
what re they doing to combat this problem??
Creating more products that they can sell such as pet toothbrushes and toothpaste, tooth decay tablets.. you name it they have created a product to help alleviate the problem.
How absurd is that? Have you ever tried brushing a cats teeth or a dog that is aggressive? In the wild animals don't need dentists and don't need toothbrushes.. they tear meat off the bone and that cleans their teeth.
They are not subject to artificial sugars either.
So why are most vets not telling us to feed our dogs and cats raw met on the bone. ?? well they wouldn't make any money from that would they!!
In the meantime though what about our dogs health and suffering?
Max cant tell us when he has a tooth ache so to get our attention he might mouth or bite us, only to get told off or told to go away.
The mouth rot then gets worse and the toxins have nowhere else to go other than to go back into Max's body, causing a complete imbalance in the bodies immune system and a whole host of disease can then show up in the body.
Look at an animal that has some major disease and look in his mouth. The mouth is a sign of what is going on in the body. You can bet there will be signs of mouth rot!
Costly vet bills are on the increase and why?
Because of the diet we are feeding to our dogs.. simple as that
All this rubbish that is in these dried and tinned foods is criminal really.
Now even the vets will tell you that their dried food is the best diet, its been scientifically formulated for complete diet and nutrition for your pet..
But my question is why do you need to scientifically produce food for dogs when they are simply animals and simply carnivores?
Why do we need to spend £45 upwards on a bag of food that we don't really know what has gone into it?
We trust our vets know what they are talking about but what if the information they have been taught is wrong?
What if they know this food will eventually cause some disease in your dog and they know you will head straight to them for treatment for these diseases, thus them making more money by selling you drugs that the pharmaceutical companies have sold to them.
These drugs often cause a whole host of nasty side effects, and weaken the immune system further thus creating more disease somewhere else in the body
How many dogs and cats are on Metacam? drug pain relief when all they really need is a natural diet. Breeding is blamed for alot of today's diseases in dogs but what if its actually just the diet??
Its crazy!!!
Isn't prevention better than the cure.. wont Max be happier if he never got the disease in the first place or didn't feel so rubbish on the diet he is being fed on that he has to get aggressive towards you just to try and reach out to you to get you to understand?
Won't your bank balance look more healthy with out horrendous vet bills that could have been avoided if only someone had explained what these so called complete foods actually contain!
Won't you be happier to see you dog out live a junk food fed dog?
I have had two cases in the last week of dog owners ringing me up and saying their dog has been diagnosed with epilepsy and is having fits… when i asked both owners what they were feeding their dogs ( i already knew the answer!!) both owners said to me Bakers Complete!
Is that not proof enough that these added sugars and chemicals are producing imbalances in our dogs and causing fits..
The vets had said to both owners that the dogs would need to go on monthly medication for 12 months costing £55 a month!
I said take your dog off Bakers and feed it a raw diet. Much cheaper and your dogs epilepsy will completely disappear!
So that is the Answer.. The best diet to feed you carnivore pet is Meat and Bone! Simple really .. nothing new, its what animals have been doing for years. Its us that is messing around with them.
Dogs are carnivores.. Vets will argue this point and say they are omnivores and they need vegetables in their diet..
Whilst dogs can and do eat a little vegetable in their diet, they are far more carnivore than omnivore and could live totally without vegetable in their diets!
On the other hand, dogs will and are suffering terribly because we have removed their natural diet away from them and taken most of the meat and bone out of their diets.
Some of these pet food contain as little as 4% meat (what is all that about! it horrifies me to think we have cut out the main thing out of our dogs diets and replaced it with rubbish that the dogs does NOT need or really want!! )
I had another case of dog being sick 6 times every journey and the vets had tried medication but had no success. a simple change of diet onto raw meat and the dog stopped being sick completely!
It does not take a genius to work out really!
Anyone who knows me by now, knows i work with the natural instincts and behaviours of our fellow pack friends the dogs.
Our dogs are still far more in tune with nature than their fellow human friends..
Back in the ice age when we first domesticated the wolf, we bought the wolf cubs into our camps so to help us catch prey and keep our packs safe from intruders and to keep us warm in the cold nights.
Today we still like our dogs to keep us warm and to warn of us potential danger to our homes but we have taken the job of hunting prey off of them.
Country dogs still might go out and hunt but most city and town dogs do not.
We go to Tescos and bring home a sack of food for them and put it in their bowl…
The dogs use their front teeth when feeding from a bowl.. there is no chewing or jaw action going on.. It just slides down unnoticed
There is no hunt and there is no kill.. Nothing left for our dog to do but eat out of a bowl.
Now, I myself have been a vegetarian for almost 30 years, at age 8, I decided i did not like the taste of meat and never ate it again.
I know however that My dog is not a vegetarian or omnivore like most vets would like me to believe.. no my dog is a carnivore and needs meat.
My job as pack leader is to provide my pack with the best food i can.
So I provide my dog Annie with Raw meat and bone..
yes RAW.. I dont cook her meat and bone... i give it to her raw just like if she was still in the wild she would do.
Annie LOVES her RMB.. I throw it on the grass for her and she gets stuck in straight away.
She picks up the raw meaty bones and moves it to the back of her of jaw and starts chewing.. Her whole jaw, shoulders and body get a workout.. Her natural bodily chemicals get to work in preparation for digestion, I can see "happy" endorphins being released through her whole body as she does what nature intended her to do.. Chew meat and bone together!!
I can hear her pleasure when she her teeth crack through the bones.. She is getting the best teeth clean she will ever have, ripping and tearing meat off the bone is what keeps a dogs mouth free from bacterial rot.
Now Annie had been in Kennels for almost four years being fed on a really rubbish diet of dried complete greyhound mix..
Annie had the most dreadful mouth rot at age four.. her teeth were yellow and tartar stained, her gums inflamed and sore and she would dribble when she ate as she couldn't chew properly.
He poo was a bright yellow colour and came out runny. She had bad breath, bad guts and bad mouth.
She also came to me with severe aggression problems.. no wonder with all that going on.. she was crying out for help..
I put her on the raw meaty bones diet and you have to see the video for your self to believe it.. She is a completely different dog today.. No more aggression at all.. her poo is thick and solid and goes white in the sun, her coat is gleaming and her eyes sparkle, and most of all her mouth rot is completely gone.. no more bad breath or sore inflamed gums.. her teeth are white and gleaming.. amazing and all from a bit of simple meat on the bone!
Wild animals do not need dentists in the wild for this very reason.. They don't have sugar either!
So Bones.. Bones are needed in a dogs diet for digestion of the meat and all the nutrient in the bones,
Can someone tell me.. where is the marrow bone in these so called Complete foods we see in cans and sacks? They have NO bone content at all!
Do you remember white dog poo 30 years or so ago? Well that is digested bone, that what healthy dog poo looks like.
30 years ago we were feeding our dogs more scraps off our plate, more meat and bone from the butchers..
30 years ago.. vets were not as busy as they are today and did not charge as much... and 30 years ago who had heard of dog behaviorist.. Dog trainers yes.. Dog psychologists No!
30 years ago i wouldn't have enough clients to make this a full time business.. Today i do and i totally believe its starts with the diets we are feeding our dog.
Its my mission to educate as many dog owners to just read the labels on their dogs food and do some research of their own to find out what the hell is in this so called food.
I have had an amazing amount of clients swap to RMB and see a total change in their dogs health and behaviour!
Purina who make Bakers Complete are a sister company of Nestle Rowntree who are one of the largest sugar manufactures in the world.
Purina contacted me a few weeks ago to ask if i would endorse their products in my consultations and on my website. In return they were going to give me a years worth of feed for Annie my dog..
I told them in no uncertain terms that i would ever endorse their products and that, I infact warned my clients of the dangers of feeding them their rubbish.
I explained to them, how I had only just got Annie back to a full state of health and there was no way i was going to risk her health or teeth by letting her eat a years worth of their food..
So after reading my blog today.. i have 2 questions for you?
Are you going to continue to put sugar, wheat, gluten, EC preservatives and colours into your dogs body or are you going to go back to what nature intended our animals to eat? Raw meat on the bone?
Go and chat to your local butcher and ask him to save the chicken carcasses he would normally throw away.. Put him back in business,
Change your shopping habits when in these big supermarket stores..
Forget the pet food aisle.. I have checked already, there is not one make of pet food there that is completely natural, all the products contain some sort of colour preservative or sugar!
go done the meat section instead and fill up on raw meat and bone instead, Check out the reduced section for some bargains on meats..
Your dog will love you forever if you provide the right kind of food.. think about it..
If your dog could actually ask you for what it wanted to eat what do you think he would ask for??
And don't think about cost of meat, its far cheaper in the long run..
You buy the best you can to watch, you buy the best clothes you can wear, your dine in the best restaurants you can so why not feed your dog the best you can!
Its what being a Great Pack leader is all about.

Miracle!! 21 yr old dog beats nose cancer!!

Life is full of surprises and full of miracles.
This story is of a miracle dog called Benjie.
Every once in a life time we come across a story of a person or animals that has shown some sort of miracle.
Out of all the dogs I have had the pleasure in meeting and working with over the years, Benjie has a very special place in my heart.
You see, Benjie is 21 years old.. That is a miracle in its self.. that's almost 147 years old in human terms. The biggest miracle though is that Benjie was diagnosed with nose cancer 1 year ago and given maybe a few weeks left to live.
1 Year on and he is still going strong… still living life to the full and not giving up just yet.
Benjie's owner is a lovely lady who has just turned 40.. Benjie as been by her side every day for the last 20 years and you can see the friendship they share. They can read each others minds and just love each other unconditionally.
Benjie's owner was mortified and completely devastated when she was told the news by her vet that Benjie had nose cancer and may not have long left to live.
Not knowing where to turn she searched the internet to find some sort of help and came across Canine Angel contacted me straight away.
I went to visit immediately, I could sense her anxiety and worry about her best friend.
When i first met Benjie, I could sense his fight wasn't over yet.. He is of strong character and I thought if you have come this far and survived planet earth for so long.. You won't let a bit of cancer bother you too much now.
Benjie is one of those independent dogs that likes to do is own thing and not be fussed about too much..
I was told that he didn't like to be fussed or touched by strangers but that day Benjie knew was there to help and came over and put his nose into my hand and asked me to help.. It was quite an emotional moment and Benjie's owner shed some tears.
I gave Benjie healing that day and continue on a weekly basis to send him loving energy and thoughts. We put him on a bio resonance formula from my good friend who is a natural and homeopathic vet. We changed his diet to one of totally organic fresh meat and veg. We put him on herbal products and surrounded him with crystals healing and love.
I get regular updates from his owner to tell me how he is doing and he is now on his fifth batch of remedies.
I went to visit him last week and give him more healing. I looked at this dog and thought what a miracle you are.
He asked me to tell his story to the world and tell everyone that love, healing and natural medicines are what this world needs more of.
His owner did not want to put him the harsh treatment of chemical drug therapy for the cancer because at his age, his body wouldn't have liked it.
Whilst radiotherapy is good treatment for some cancers, others can be treated naturally. There are alternative ways to support our dog and its health when these life threatening illness come knocking at the door.
This blog is dedication to the work I do and it's my pleasure to see it working so well with the help of one miracle dog called Benjie.
May Benjie go on to live more of life and let his owner share more happy days with him.
It may be one of the saddest days of my working career the day he does have to say good bye to this world but he sure has taught me well and he has been a very important part of my life and the work that i do.
Benjie's love just melts your heart.
So please leave your dedication, love , healing and support to Benjie and spread the word that there is a miracle happening right now this very minute.
All that is left for me to say is
"I love you Benjie. Thank you for being such a wonderful teacher and friend. And whenever your time does come to part this world, we shall be thinking of you and wishing you well on the next stage of your journey. May you live many more happy days here though. "

So what causes aggression in dogs?

Most of the cases I am called out to see involve some type of aggression, whether that be the dog attacking another dog or it owner or It becoming aggressive over its toys or food.
Some dogs have learnt fear based aggression like my Annie, She came to me with fear based aggression problems. She had been re homed twice for biting her new owners.
On observing Annie it was clear to me that she needed some rules limitation and boundaries setting, She needed to know her place in the pack and learn what was acceptable behaviour in my pack and what wasn't.
When she arrived in my home I gave her no affection at all.. I ignored her as much as possible and let her sniff her new territory out. I gave her own place that she could feel safe in and that only I as the alpha could enter.
The first time I gave her a bone she took it to her bed and started chomping on, it, I wanted to see if she had any food based aggression which is a sign that she believed she was the alpha. She growled and bared her teeth at me so I pinned her down with the alpha bite and projected my calm but assertive energy that I was the alpha and wanted her bone. She soon gave it up to me. Since that day I can take her food from her at any time. She knows who is boss now.
I have taught her that it is not acceptable to bite my human friends and I did that by remaining calm when she did bite them. I sent her away with a firm but calm shush and gave her no eye contact.
She has now learnt to give a warning to anyone that enters her space with out invitation. We had to bear in mind that something in her past made her feel fearful. I have removed her fear by showing that I amt he leader and that I am looking after her. She has no need to feel she has to protect her self or me.
Dogs bite fear or negativity. In the wild the dog will hunt out and attack and kill the weakest of the herd. The one that shows the most weakness and fear will be killed. This is mother nature and natural selection. If a dog senses your negativity or fear then it is more likely to attack you than someone that shows calm assertive energy.
A dog will bite to communicate to us that something is wrong or out of balance and that something needs to change..
A dog that is aggressive is frustrated, it might not be getting enough exercise or might even be on the wrong diet. This I will cover in more detail later.
A dog that becomes aggressive ultamatley thinks it is the leader and can often be stressed and uncap bale of the title you have given it.
There are many types of aggression from territorial, to fear based to leadership aggression.
Many of the aggressive dogs I see have been treated aggressively in the past.
Most human respond to dog aggression by shouting, hitting or smacking the dog. Many people think this is the way to discipline their dog. This is the worse thing you can do as aggression only breeds more aggression. If your dog is aggressive and you then lash out and hit it then you are showing no control and no leadership status. You are not being calm and assertive. Your are being negative and aggressive. Your dog will only learn from you that aggression is the way forwards in his pack environment.
You must teach him that aggression is not welcome behaviour in your pack. I have never shouted or hit Annie once.. I have shown her that the best way forward to is to keep calm and in control. After three months she has learnt this very well.
I notice her warning sign if she is to bite and I step in with a shush and take control, I take the job off her and show her its ok there is nothing to feel afraid of.
What makes a dog aggressive?
Aggression in dogs can be caused by the following things
Food. many of today's cheaper pet foods contain a large numbers sugars and preservatives, e numbers and colours. This is not for the benefit for the dog but to make it more appealing to the human eye. Also preservatives are added to prolong the shelf life of the product so they manufactures can make more sales and more profit.
These ingredients are not found in food that the dog in the wild eats. Its chooses its prey kills its prey and then eats all the bits of the prey that it knows is good for it. Dogs eats a combination of marrow bone, meat and organs, some skin or Hyde and earth or soil that the kill is covered in. Most of all they eat raw meat and bone. They do not cook their food in the wild and nor should we cook it for them at home.
A dog in today's society still has the same internal workings of that of its wild ancestors. They have not developed to eat and digest such high in protein and sugar foods.
If a dog feels bad on his diet he has no way to tell you other than to perhaps get aggressive.
I have seen many dogs change their diets along with a behaviour modification programme and turn from little devils into angels.
A dog may be in pain and become aggressive there for it is imperative to have our dog checked over by the vet and a chiropractor or massage therapist to see if the body is unbalanced in any way.
Most cases I see of dog aggression though is due to the fact the dog has taken on the leader of the pack role and is not coping with the job. They only do this as they know they have to have a leader to survive and if you are not doing a good job then they will challenge and take over.
The alpha dogs in any pack will only become aggressive to the other dogs when something is wrong within the pack or when a subordinate dog tries to take the alpha position.
This is most likely what is happening when a dog becomes aggressive towards you especially when it is over food or toys.
When a dog become aggressive with other people or dogs it is because he is believing that he is there to protect you and the pack. Dogs pick up on energy vibes of us or other dogs or strangers and can take a dislike to anyone with negative vibes. Notice how you feel when your dog gets aggressive.
What is your reaction when you dog gets aggressive? Do you shout at him to stop? When you raise your voice your dog see this as you joining in too. It really does re-inforce the behaviour. There are some incidents when you have to raise your voice, when there is a serious emergency like your dog is being attacked by another.. but if it is general aggression then a calm but assertive shush or Oh noise should suffice
As long as you use the same noise and tone every time you discipline a dog then it will soon learn it is not to get aggressive.
Take for instance, when I took Annie to the vets, she was cornered in the room, became scared and got aggressive when the vet came near her. I stayed calm and did the shush noise and she calmed down, knowing that I am her leader and if I stay calm then she has no reason to feel fear or afraid.
If I had got worked up at that point then she would have too. We took her into another room and the vets got one of the nurses to take off her bandage and she remained nice and calm.
So we have to look at energy when a dog is being aggressive and work out where the imbalance is coming from?
Check to see how you are feeling when your dog gets aggressive. Are you feeling nervous or afraid about something? Are you feeling angry about something? Chances are you are and when your dog shows aggression it is to communicate something is wrong. We need to observer what is going on in its environment. We need to make sure the dog does not think it is the pack leader and is trying to defend its pack. As I say that is not its job.
For those dog owners who buy an aggressive breed to look after their house and family they are indeed putting that dog under a lot of stress.
A dog is no more intelligent than a 2 year old child and we would never put our 2 year child out in front and make it protect us.
This is where most people go wrong.
