Dog is known for being man’s best friend and has been our closest and most loyal animal companion for many centuries. Their origins trace back as far as the ice age, when we first invited the wolf cubs into our camps.

We recognised the similarities to us, which are that they are incredibly intelligent and social animals, which thrive, when they work together in their family groups or packs.

However, we still seem to have so much to learn about these wonderful fun- loving creatures to enable us to understand how we can provide for their needs, so they live a thriving, happy and balanced life with us.

Over the last few decades we have seen a significant rise in pet health and behavioural problems, which has left pet parents all over the globe, scratching their heads wondering what is causing these problems and how best they can solve them?

There is also a significant rise in the number of animals which are abandoned in rescue shelters or put to sleep and sent to an early grave, because there was a break down in communication between their species and ours.

By taking the time to study and learn everything we can about the canine species, we can discover what these incredible creatures want and need from us, to live out their natural lifespans in the happiest and healthiest way possible.

Mr Knight

My own amazing canine friend, Mr. Knight was a street dog from Thailand who suffered severe trauma at approx 3 years old. He had run away from a noisy fireworks parade and got caught in a narrow cavity of a derelict building. Worse still, he got himself impaled on a metal post that pierced his abdomen. In trying to escape this dire situation, Mr. Knight ripped his body into shreds on the concrete rubble that he lay on.
